Some locals were left without power after the truck hit the pole at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Madison Street NW shortly after noon on March 12, officials say.

The driver was able to escape the truck without incident, though there was a power outage in the area that Pepco crews were working to repair later on Tuesday afternoon.

Following the crash, a small fire broke out in the cab of the tractor-trailer that DC Fire and EMS crews were able to quickly extinguish.

No injuries were reported.
